Ten Check points to see if you are serious with your financial life!!

13 years / 4745 Days / 1,13,880 hours of Practise as a Financial Consultant has helped me draw a thin line between Serious and Non Serious Investors. Few of you would agree or disagree to my observation.

Serious

Non serious

1 Keeps his phone silent during his meetings with Financial advisor. Shows that he is too busy with his phone and other stuff.
2 Takes utmost care of his and other’s time as well. Always reaches late for the meeting scheduled.
3 Takes care that no one comes in between him and his Financial Life. Cannot keep business/ work out of his life for even a hour’s time.
4 Highly committed and takes interest. Highly uncommitted and takes least interest.
5 Financial commitment is top priority. Financial Commitment is last priority.
6 Does Need based investment. Buys mostly out of recommendation of friends or family and keeps switching from one product to another.
7 Is always ready to learn and gain. Is always ready to Teach (Right or Wrong) and nothing to lose.
8 Talks about Goals and actions. Talks about products and his upfront (discount) income.
9 Looks for long term gain and short term pain End up getting short term gain and Long Term Pain.
10 Respects his relationship with Financial advisor and stay with single advisor for all his needs. Consider every Financial advisor as an agent who is on a lookout of work and keeps switching agents for that extra buck.

  1. I think the sooner one takes this piece of advice or points, the better for that persons’s financial life. One point I would like to add though your point -10 is important,Sometimes it not easy to find the right financial advisor. Ms Suchitra went to HSBC.Many RM with reputed MNC banks offer advice which is ruinous .Misspealing is rampart with them
